Last weekend, Karee and I went to a little charming place in Ridgeway called Laura's Tea Room. We wore our fancy summer dresses and got to pick out fancy hats for tea. And, yes, we posed with cardboard cutouts of the queen #becausewhynot. When we arrived, we picked out our own tea cup and were seated at our table for two where a fresh glass of iced strawberry basil tea was waiting for us. Goooodness was that delicious! Our super kind server educated us a little about the [4 pages of] different types of tea they offer and what to expect with each category of tea. It was a little overwhelming having to pick out one flavor tea to share because they all sounded amazing. We started out with an Apricot Black tea that we sipped while eating our lemon poppy seed scone and chilled strawberry soup. I know strawberry soup sounds a little skeptical, but it was so good that I ditched my spoon and just drank the whole cup of it like a thin milkshake. Once we finished that, we were served the most refreshing watermelon pasta salad followed by a tiered tray of sandwiches that included cucumber, tomato and radish (separately), along with a pimento cheese pastry, brie and red pepper tart and sweet bread. The top two tiers were reserved for the sweets; chocolate dipped strawberries, chocolate cupcake and a caramel chocolate tart. My two favorites of the desserts were the éclair with raspberry and chocolate dipped clementine with sea salt. We had such a splendid time at Laura's Tea Room. Karee and I left one of our Instax pictures there as a thank-you! :) I highly recommend this place for mother-daughter dates, bridal showers, or a small birthday party for girls aged 9 +, and, of course, any tea lovers.
