You know you've found your kind of people when they are game for meeting you at sunrise for a beautiful family shoot. Even though Mama may have set her alarm for 5 pm instead of 5 am, she still rocked those curls from doing her hair the night before. Even though Papa got off of work at 6:45 in the morning, he was still pumped and got everyone loaded up and ready to go!
Jerry and Kate are two of the most genuine, kind and straight up cool people that I have had the pleasure of meeting. They are driven. They are loving. They are overcomers. You know that saying, "Your mess can become your message"? It stands true for these two. They have quite a testimony that will remind you to just keep pressing on, never give up. God will provide in such a way that allows you to meet your goals above and beyond. It really makes me incredibly thankful that God has put them in my path during this season of my life.
I also wanted to share some of the sweet things Kate said after seeing the sneak peeks to their shoot because it makes me proud and grateful that I have given someone something they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
"This morning we were up (not as) early (as planned) for a sunrise family photo shoot!! It was so incredible to experience and so exciting to even include hubs since he worked last night! However, the diva [daughter] sure did have her moments haha! The session was by the lake, and this little nugget wanted to play and splash the entire time! I'm so thankful for the most amazing photographer who works tirelessly to capture genuine moments in time, filled with love, happiness, and the essence of our family dynamic. Kristin, You are one incredible woman! Thank you for loving our family like your own!"
"Kristin, I may or may not be crying right now. There is so much beauty in this picture!!! Hands in the dirt with little fingers grasping shells, and toes in the water. Oh. My. Stars.
Let them be little. Let them get messy. And when you have an opportunity to let someone (Darling Lilly Photography) capture moments in time you didn't even know existed, let them."
P.S. * This was the second time I've "styled" a family for a photoshoot. I love doing it so much that it's now included in the price of my family session package, which I (highly) suggest you take advantage of, guys!! I simply go through your closets and pick out your wardrobe for the session since I know what colors photograph well together, yet still have your own personalities shining through! It's fun for me and it takes the stress off of you! Win Win!! :) I suppose if you're convinced that you have absolutely nothing to wear in those closets, however, I would be more than willing to go shop with you and help put outfits together!
