“Ten times a day something happens to me like this -

some strengthening throb of amazement -

some good sweet empathic ping and swell.

This is the first, the wildest and the wisest thing I know:

that the soul exists and is built entirely out of attentiveness.”
Mary Oliver

On a very early Saturday morning I drove over to David & Sarah's house to document a little bit of Sarah's motherhood journey. Little Quinn woke up around 5:30am with a sweet, sleepy little "Hi!" to her Mama. I saw the swell of gratefulness and contentment that emerged from Sarah's heart upon hearing that sweet little voice. Their morning routine starts with extra cuddle time in Mama & Papa's big bed and questions as to what she dreamed about. Sarah teaches Quinn about making breakfast and Quinn teaches Sarah the latest in toddler fashion. ;) They read books upon books upon books until it's time to go play outside and feed the chickens.

I think one of the most fascinating things to observe about a mother is the way she becomes a teacher and a nurse; usually without any "formal training". Instincts are amazing, aren't they?! Pretty soon sweet Quinn will join her parents in learning how to teach her little sibling (!!!!!!!!!!!) all these amazing things about life!

Three things I hold close to my heart after visiting with this family:

There is always hope, Miracles do happen, and God's timing is always spot on.
