WINTER AT THE BROOK BUNGALOW

Is there anyone in South Carolina that actually thrives in the winter?! It seems like the majority of people, myself included, despise the short, frigid days spent couped up inside.

I always try to practice gratitude, though. In winter it often comes from picking up my camera and pushing myself to play with different indoor lighting situations or just documenting daily life.

If you’ve followed me on social media for a while, you know I love finding hearts in shadows, nature or unexpected places. I also love finding crosses. So while the second photograph below may look like a target on Everett’s head to some (ha!), I prefer to see a cross.
A reminder to be grateful for this beautiful baby that I prayed to have for so long. He was created perfectly by the Almighty and I hope to teach him that no matter how dark life seems sometimes, God is always within him and surrounding him with love and open arms.

Just stay focused.

I’m also (obviously) obsessed with the way his hair curls so beautifully in the back of his head.

He loves to look out the window and back door to watch traffic go by.
He is still in love with the letter “B”, just in block form now instead of his beloved foam letter B you may remember in previous photos. I had to retire that to his keepsake box because it was starting to peel apart from all the love he gave it! Hehe!
One day recently, I watched him pick up each letter block in his wagon, look at one side, turn it over to look at the other side and set it down until he came across both letter B’s. He was filled with joy when he found both of them! My silly boy!
