OUR WINTER ADVENTURES

Late, as per usual, when it comes to sharing Everett updates / personal photos. This Spring has blessed me with photographing many new families, who quickly become my families, and slowly soaking in so many beautiful days.

It’s rainy today and Everett is playing independently in his room for a little bit so I have some spare time to write! Hearing his little voice is amazing. He is saying some 4-5 word sentences now, talking like a little person! ;) I love walking around the house and seeing his little trains or books in random places. One of my favorite things is folding and putting away his laundry. I’ve wished for things like this my whole life. Parenthood is tough, but oh goodness it’s so rewarding and fills your heart with a type of love you’ve never experienced before. He teaches me while I’m teaching him.

We did a lot of exploring at Everett’s favorite bridge this winter (as we do in every season hehe), and played inside a lot because Mama’s a pansy and hates the cold with a passion. ;p Winter is a tough season for me, as I’ve said many times in many places on the internet! Ha! I don’t take as many pictures because I feel like the life has been sucked out of me. I NEED color and warmth and sunshine and long days.

Everett has really started to love his shadow! He’ll say “bye shadow”, or “oh there he is!” and it’s so stinkin’ cute. One day as we were walking, I told him that his shadow loves the sunshine and then my mind spiraled into a million different metaphors and questions and before I knew it I was like WOAHHHH being a parent is a trip! You can take the simplest thing for a child to grasp and pick it apart to teach your own self something.

I write this now as he throws his shape blocks from his room to ours, a little trail of colorful stepping stones that says, “Come play with me!” :)
